WHY CHOOSE BEARS
More Than Tree Service. We Protect What Matters.
Tree work is about more than cutting branches. It's about protecting your home, your property, your trees, and the people around them.
🛡️
Safety Comes First
Every property and every tree presents different risks.
We evaluate the tree, surrounding structures, access, terrain, and potential hazards before work begins. Our goal isn't simply to remove a tree — it's to complete the job safely while protecting your home, landscape, and property.
🌲
Local Knowledge
Santa Cruz County isn't one-size-fits-all.
We work throughout coastal neighborhoods, Santa Cruz Mountain properties, rural acreage, and everything in between. We understand the local conditions that affect trees, from coastal winds and drought stress to saturated winter soils and wildfire risk.
🏗️
Equipped for Difficult Jobs
Some trees require more than a chainsaw and a truck.
From steep slopes and restricted-access properties to trees near homes, fences, and other structures, Bears has access to professional-grade equipment, including cranes and lift trucks, for challenging removals requiring precision and control.
🤝
Honest Recommendations
Not every tree needs to come down.
When a tree can reasonably be preserved through pruning, structural maintenance, or preventative care, we'll explain those options. When removal is the safest choice, we'll explain why.
Our job is to help you make an informed decision — not sell you unnecessary work.

Silki, 2026 (Angie's List Review)
Bear Tree Services did an amazing job on our yard. Fernando was jovial, professional, and gave us a very fair price. His crew was extremely hands-on, skilled, and efficient from start to finish. They shaped three trees so beautifully that they now look like a natural privacy wall, trimmed down an entire tree, and reshaped another tree to the perfect height we wanted. The attention to detail and cleanup afterward were excellent. Our yard looks completely transformed and much more polished. We truly appreciated the team’s hard work, knowledge, and positive attitude. Highly recommend Bear Tree Services for quality tree work!
Patty, 2025 (Google Review)
I contacted Bears Tree Service to see if they could trim a very tall palm tree in my backyard that would need to be climbed. They arrived on time to look at the tree and give me an assessment. They were very upbeat and positive that they could handle the job. They promptly sent me a very reasonable quote and a contract describing what would be done. I had contacted several other tree companies that did not want to do the work because it was too difficult. A few gave me very high quotes and didn't really want to tackle the job. Bear Tree Service was very upbeat and positive about doing the work. They arrived on time and had the job done in about 2 hours. Wonderful workers, very professional, also did an immaculate clean up of all debris from my yard. I would highly recommend them for any tree work you need done.

After reading the many 5⭐️ reviews that Bears Tree Service had, I called them for a quote on a small tree job. Fernando came out within 30 minutes, listened to my tree trimming needs and gave me an immediate, reasonable quote. He was able to come out the same day, late afternoon, and did this job for me. Tree looks great, meets my expectations. Fernando cleaned up the work site, looks great. I highly recommend Bears Tree Service, if Fernando is the guy to do the job.

Absolutely top-notch tree crew! They were prompt, professional, and incredibly skilled—truly a well-oiled machine. They handled some massive trees on our property with impressive precision and care, making it look almost effortless. What really stood out was their attention to detail: not only did they work safely and efficiently, but they were also extremely respectful of the surrounding landscape and vegetation. When they wrapped up, the area was spotless—cleaner than when they started! If you’re looking for a crew that knows exactly what they’re doing and treats your property like their own, look no further. Highly recommend!

They are extremely professional and good at what they do. They cut down 15 redwood trees that were growing too close to my house and charged very reasonable rates. They removed all the logs and restored our property before wrapping up the job. plan to hire them again. Highly recommended.
